relay for life

Last Friday night, our department at work did a booth at the Relay for Life.
This is an all night walk-a-thon, up at Weber State, that helps raise money for cancer.
We set up a fishing pond, where kids paid a $1, and got to "fish" for a suprise.
Shannon is always my partner in crime, and agreed to come and help out.
In addition to the booth, you had to sign up to walk the track for an hour. We walked from 8-9, so at least we weren't one of the suckers who were out there at 3:00 AM!
It was really crowded, even though it rained most of the time. It just goes to show that people are good sports, when it's for a good cause.

"Stan-bird" was even doing some laps! For those of you who don't know, he's the mascot for the Standard Examiner newspaper

  2. That is fun! That is nice that you have Shannon to keep you company! My dad walked, I think his time slot was from 1-6am. Ha, so he was one of THOSE suckers!:) Hope you have fun in Island Park.
